My name is Dominic Hébert and I was born on September 26, 1974 in Valleyfield, Quebec, Canada. I still live there and I’m very proud to be a Campi Valencien. I’m a French elementary teacher. I work now as vice-president for my Teachers Union (Syndicat de Champlain).I grew up hunting ducks on the Lake St-François in Quebec, Canada, an area rich in decoy carvers tradition. I was lucky to be introduced to the sport at a young age and the passion has stuck with me ever since. My dad Claude started me out hunting at age 10. Since this time hunting and fishing was a way of life growing up for me. I have been hunting waterfowl since 1986.

Here in Quebec I can hunt in different situations. Many species are available all season long like puddlers in marsh, geese and snow geese in field, divers in open water, and many more from september to january. I made around 45 waterfowl hunts each fall. I love to hunt ducks and geese, primarily big Canada’s and Mallards.

In 1999 I entered in my first calling contests and I won the duck and the goose contest the same day. I won 3 time in a row the Quebec Province Championship (1999, 2000 and 2001), 2 time the Canadian National title (2000 and 2001) and I became the 2002 Canadian Master Champion of Champions.

I’m a Foiles Migrators Acrylic Duck and Goose Calls Gold-Staffer. I join the Team “Strait Meat” in 2002. This association with Foiles Migrators Acrylic Duck and Goose Calls is the best thing that happen to me in my calling career. I met many nice persons and I put my calling in an higher level with this awesome calls. The Strait Street helped me win the 2002 Canadian Master Champion of Champions.

Now with some calling contest titles in my pockets I give many private calling lessons and calling seminars in Quebec all year around. I made my own DVD (all in French) about duck and goose calling technics in 2008. I’m very proud about that achievement.

I’m with Big Foot Decoys since 2010 as a Pro-Staffer! Since winter 2013, I’m also with Kent Cartridges and Rig’Em Right! I’m a volunteer for Canards Illimités Canada (Ducks Unlimited Canada) since 2000 with my local committee in Valleyfield. Also I’m the waterfowl hunting specialist for Mr Patrick Campeau hunting and fishing writer for the Journal de Montréal (1,300,000 readers). We made together 2 to 4 articles about waterfowl hunting each fall since 2010. I made waterfowl footage for the tv program Rendez-Vous Chasse-Pêche. Finally I’m the president-founder of the Association des Sauvaginiers du Suroît founded in march 2008.
